Kayaking on the Skawa River
by Marcin Krzyżański, Poland

The film presents the Skawa River in Poland, a part of the Natura 2000 site Lower Skawa River Valley (PLB120005). The area covers the largest complexes of fishing ponds of the Oświęcim – Zator Region as well as the Skawa River Valley. Fish farming has been run here since 13th and 14th centuries. Although currently it is run on a large scale, many ponds are thickly grown with water plants. The whole sanctuary is spotted with innumerable gravel-pits with bird-inhabited isles.
